A Polarizing Beamsplitter Cube is a solid glass optical element composed of two right-angle prisms that divide a natural light into two orthogonal components: the s polarization, and the p polarization. One of the hypotenuses of the prisms is tiled with dielectric beamsplitter coating that will dump the s polarization vertically out of the cube while letting the p polarization propagate, thus high-purity linear polarized light is obtained.
Shalom EO offers Off-the-shelf and Custom Polarizing Beamsplitter Cubes made from ZF Glass. Regarding the standard products, both broadbands polarizing beamsplitter cubes (450-950nm, 650-950nm, 900-1300nm, 1200-1600nm) and laser line polarizing beamsplitter cubes (355nm,532nm,633 nm,808nm,880nm,1064nm,1310nm,1550nm) are available at an extinction ratio of 500:1 or 1000:1.The PBS cubes in this catalog are of cemented construction, contributing to an LIDT of 0.2 J/cm2@1064nm, 20ns, 20Hz. Nevertheless, we also provide high-power laser beam splitter cubes with an exceptional damage threshold of 15J/cm2@1064nm, 20ns, 20Hz.
