Fiber End caps are optical components designed for the end-face processing of fiber laser and fiber amplifiers with high average power at the interface of glass to air. The power could be so intense at the junction of fiber and air due to the minor cross-sectional area of the fiber, that strong heating and scorching could still devastate the fiber optic. Fiber end caps extend the cross-sectional area at the end faces of the fibers and therefore help to enhance the output power limit of fiber laser, reducing the power densities at the terminals within endurable bounds without causing damage using beam expansion so that the fiber component will not be injured.
Hangzhou Shalom EO offers Fiber End Caps made from Quartz or Fused Silica, and various custom glass materials with custom AR coatings. Our fiber end caps are colorless, which enables even beam expansion in homogeneous media. The end caps introduce a slight beam distortion and have a high damage threshold. Our fiber end caps could have either a stem or a tapered lead-in section with a special inclined angle at one terminal of the cap to help splice into the fiber. Shalom EO's fiber end caps also excel in minimized power absorptions, high precisions, and outstanding laser-induced damage thresholds. With these merits, our fiber end caps become attractive alternatives for clients seeking products with competitive prices in the market and reliable performance in the long run.
