Pixel Level Mosaic Filters or Mosaic filters are a kind of sophisticated multispectral filters with intensive integration of spectral and photometric functions. Pixel level mosaic filter is fabricated by organizing multiple micrometer-scale spectral channels into spectral periods that follow the RGB color filter arrangement. These spectral periods then form a mosaic pattern across the surface of the filter. A pixel level mosaic filter divides the entire field of view of the sensor or imaging system into numerous miniature areas and assigns different constituent spectral channels of the filters to each of these areas. This allows simultaneous and efficient processing of information from multiple spectral ranges. Furthermore, the rich and delicate division of the spectral channel areas permits precise and potent control over the optical characteristics of the images.
