Dove prism is a type of reflective prism, shaped from a truncated right-angle prism. Dove prism does not change the direction of the input beam. When rotating the dove prism through the longitudinal axis, it will rotate the image by twice the angle. A Dove prism is used to rotate, invert, or retroreflect an image, depending on the prism's rotation angle and the surface through which the light enters the prism. Dove prisms are often used in the fields of astronomy and interferometry applications.
