Consisting by triangular blocks of glass with two 45° and one 90° angles, right angle prisms are commonly used to bend image path or redirect light. As the angles of prisms tilt, the image will invert or revert through the right angle(90°). Right angle prisms are typically used in image or beams displacement applications.

Prism's hypotenuse could be Aluminum reflection coated to increase reflectivity, and Anti-reflection coatings are also available for the Prism's faces to decrease reflectivity in the Ultraviolet, Visible, or Infrared. Laser line anti-reflection coatings are also available for popular laser wavelengths.
