Sodium Iodide crystal doped with Thallium (or NaI(Tl) crystals) has a very high scintillation or luminescence efficiency and a good energy resolution, NaI(Tl) scintillators have the largest light-out and an emission range well matched to photomultipliers with bialkali photocathodes at high efficiency, and in combination with their easy availability of variety size and geometries and low cost, NaI(Tl) scintillators have become the most widely used scintillators. NaI(Tl) crystals are a highly hygroscopic material, they must be put in a hermetical sealing housing in use.
Hangzhou Shalom EO offers off-the-shelf and custom cylindrical NaI(Tl) scintillators and detectors, the NaI(Tl) crystals are made into cylinders and encapsulated in aluminum or steel housings with optical windows which would couple to Photomultiplier Tubes (PMT), and NaI(Tl) crystals could be integrated with PMT and electronics if required. Our cylindrical NaI(Tl) crystals have been widely applied in scintillation measurements or spectrometer detectors for ordinary GAMMA rays.
