Thallium doped cesium iodide (or CsI(Tl)) is one of the brightest scintillators, with its emission climax resident at 550nm within its 350-700nm emission spectral zone, which matches great with the photodiodes. Because a scintillator-photodiode pair can be utilized, it is possible to contract to a significant extent the scale of the detection setup since the usage of high-voltage power supplies and the implementation of a magnetic field could be saved. Furthermore, CsI(Tl) has a high effective atomic number, which leads to a larger cross-section of the gamma-radiation photoabsorption.
Scintillator Arrays consist of constituent pixels of scintillator crystals arranged in grid patterns and isolated using reflectors. These pixels are arranged to form a matrix (often a 2D matrix) so that signals can be integrated into an image. CsI(Tl) has exceptional stopping power and outstanding mechanical properties. Combined with high radiation hardness, CsI(Tl) scintillation arrays are well-suited for various applications, including High Energy Physics, medical facilities, well-logging, aviation technologies, etc.
Hangzhou Shalom EO provides 1-dimensional or 2-dimensional CsI(Tl) pixelated arrays ideal for the X-radiation scanning systems for medical and security applications. Photodiodes can also be assembled with CsI(Tl) array if required. Depending on growth conditions, CsI(Tl) crystals can be obtained with low afterglow for tomographic applications. We also provide Low-afterglow CsI(Tl) scintillators with an afterglow value of 0.05~0.39%@2ms; you might click on the bold text to learn more if you are interested.
