A Glan Laser Polarizer is a polarizing optic consisting of two identical right-angle prisms made from birefringent crystalline materials. The function of Glan laser polarizers is rejecting the ordinary component (the s-polarization) while transmitting the extraordinary component (the p-polarization) utilizing total internal reflection and the birefringent nature of crystals.
Shalom EO’s Glan Laser Polarizers are composed of two prisms with an air gap in between, the adhesive-free structure helps to elevate the damage threshold.
